Farewell, Green Queen.
Hello Boils and Ghouls!
Tonight(due to the fact that is is past midnight, it is practically last night) was very bitter/sweet for me. On one hand, I got to see friends and family in the Tulsa area, see an amazing burlesque show, and see my friend Kira again... on the other, this will probably be the last time I see her before she leaves and then returns for a visit sometime from L.A. The distance we live from each other never really allows much time to hang out... which is something I regret
It was definitely a great farewell show, a lot of hard work paying off, for everyone involved. I was the pickup artist, you know, the panty wrangler that cleans and sets up the stage in-between each of the burlesque performers' numbers! I felt pretty glad that I was able to do that! I had the opportunity to meet some amazing women, some wonderful performers! I think it was such a great experience for me! I really love this world that I'm emerging into, and am trying to soak up as much as I can... each glittery piece that I can grab onto.
This show was amazing, and I'm so glad I made it to the show the night before. This has been a very Green weekend, and I'm sure it will be my last for a while.. so I'm going to have to savor it!
I owe Kira for almost completely talking me into starting burlesque. She has definitely always been a very inspiring person to many. She has helped me with a lot over the years, and just keep giving. This weekend she gave me the best advice that anyone could ever give me... and the fact that she blindly believes in me and supports me really speaks louder than any words could.
Tonight was like magic, it just makes me want to delve deeper into this world. I'm really falling in love with it... Sending Kira Von Sutra off was such a grand event. We absolutely love you and wish you all of the best!
Stay Spooktacular, Dear-heart,
Vera Voodoo.
