Farewell, Green Queen.

Hello Boils and Ghouls!

Tonight(due to the fact that is is past midnight, it is practically last night) was very bitter/sweet for me. On one hand, I got to see friends and family in the Tulsa area, see an amazing burlesque show, and see my friend Kira again... on the other, this will probably be the last time I see her before she leaves and then returns for a visit sometime from L.A. The distance we live from each other never really allows much time to hang out... which is something I regret

It was definitely a great farewell show, a lot of hard work paying off, for everyone involved. I was the pickup artist, you know, the panty wrangler that cleans and sets up the stage in-between each of the burlesque performers' numbers! I felt pretty glad that I was able to do that! I had the opportunity to meet some amazing women, some wonderful performers! I think it was such a great experience for me! I really love this world that I'm emerging into, and am trying to soak up as much as I can... each glittery piece that I can grab onto.

This show was amazing, and I'm so glad I made it to the show the night before. This has been a very Green weekend, and I'm sure it will be my last for a while.. so I'm going to have to savor it!

I owe Kira for almost completely talking me into starting burlesque. She has definitely always been a very inspiring person to many. She has helped me with a lot over the years, and just keep giving. This weekend she gave me the best advice that anyone could ever give me... and the fact that she blindly believes in me and supports me really speaks louder than any words could.

Tonight was like magic, it just makes me want to delve deeper into this world. I'm really falling in love with it... Sending Kira Von Sutra off was such a grand event. We absolutely love you and wish you all of the best!

Vera Voodoo.

Fly in the Ointment.

Hello,

Well, some events have come up that are beginning to take all of my free time. I'm very worried of what this will do to my new set of scheduling, activities and goals. I'm rather disappointed in many aspects in the event. I'm really torn, heartbroken to what has happened, worried about the party involved, but also, I think selfishly; of myself. I feel that I finally have some direction to go in, and then when someone cannot take care of their messes, I must drop everything to help them with it. Vera Voodoo may be odd, macabre, spooky, but... she's not heartless. I'm just afraid that I rip out my heart and offer it to all who may need it.. just a smidge too much.. and then it just gets trampled on in the end. What a thank you, right?!

I'm so torn, I fear how much this will interfere with my new burlesque adventure. I love the people involved, but hate being tread on ONLY because I'm trying to help.

Sadly; that is all for now.

Stay Spooktacular,

Vera Voodoo.

Another show, another night.

Why, Hello Boils and Ghouls!

Tonight was a fabulous night! We had a rehearsal in the afternoon and then had a pretty awesome show at the Prohibition Room! I have never been there before, but it was really fun! I actually had some friends come out, some surprised me and popped by from Tulsa! It definitely gave me quite a boost! I'm getting the hang out performing and finding who I'm to become onstage. My head is reeling from the excitement and the success of our show... I'm in this with some really amazing girls! We ended up going to iHop afterwards, it was a nice way to eat and unwind. I am really liking the direction that my life seems to be headed.

Thank you all so much for your support.

Stay Spooktacular,

Vera Voodoo.

Biting The Apple

Hey Boils and Ghouls,

Tonight concluded the two night show; Biting The Apple; Redefining Red: Exploring the Color Of Eros. What a lovely two-night erotica/art show, indeed! Red just so happens to be my favorite color! Despite the insanity that is the behind the scenes of five performing acts sharing a tiny stockroom for a dressing room and just the flurry behind a burlesque show.. it went very well. Our troupe did our Group performance each night, and our solos were split up between the two nights. I got to do my new and improved Solo, which unfortunately had some behind the scene kinks, which wasn't even our fault,  but I still had a nice response! So thank you for everyone who cheered and supported us. We have quite a few performances left in the next month or two. Please check my calendar for dates and details!!

Until then;

     Stay Spooktacular,
